JUST IN: Longtime WaPo Columnist Accuses Jill Biden Of Elder Abuse

A veteran opinion columnist at the Washington Post lit into Dr. Jill Biden, accusing the former first lady of elder abuse after pushing her husband to seek reelection despite his mental decline and, possibly, the prostate cancer growing inside him.

Washington, D.C. opinion maker and socialite Sally Quinn took aim at Jill while speaking with fellow journalist Tara Palmeri in a recent interview where she said establishment Democrats were “horrified” by Jill’s behavior.

“I blame Jill Biden for this. Jill Biden is his wife. And if Jill Biden had stood up and gone to him and said, ‘Joe, you can’t do it’… He wouldn’t have run,” Quinn said Wednesday on the “Tara Palmeri Show.”

“She clearly was in favor of his running and I just think it was a terrible disservice to the country.”

The former president’s “hideous” debate only emboldened his wife, who Quinn claims doubled down on pushing him to stay in the race.

“She wasn’t protecting him… I thought it was elder abuse, really,” Quinn declared.

Biden’s declining health was no secret among Washington’s elite, many of whom Quinn regularly dines with, and said the concern about Biden’s ability to handle another four years was nearly unanimous.

“Everybody thought he shouldn’t run,” she told Palmeri. “People were just distraught that he was running and terrible for the party.”

“I think everybody was horrified that he was put in a position where he was allowed to run, by his staff and by his wife,” she continued. “People felt sorry for him. But still it was his egotistical decision to stay in office and look what happened.”

Quinn has personal experience with losing a loved one to the long goodbye of mental decline. She was married to Watergate reporter Ben Bradlee, who famously suffered from dementia until his death in 2014.

Biden’s habit of wandering off during press conferences, she said, reminded her of how her late husband was behaving near the end of his life.

“It looks like the beginning of dementia to me,” she said of Biden.

The D.C. insider stated she was as shocked as anyone to learn about Biden’s cancer diagnosis last week, questioning how his world-class team of medical staff didn’t manage to catch the slow-growing malignancy in his prostate.

“The president of the United States has the best medical care in the world, or should, and it should’ve been diagnosed a long time ago,” she said. “It’s hard for me to believe that they didn’t know about it and were waiting to reveal it until it got too aggressive.”

A Biden spokesperson told Fox News that the Democrat’s last prostate screening took place in 2014.

The former president’s health is back in the spotlight, both as a result of the health scare and a new book by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson examining Biden’s inner circle during his final year in office.

Released this week, “Original Sin” contains startling admissions by some closest to Biden at the time, including that he would regularly forget the names of staff who had served him for years, while the team contemplated confining him to a wheelchair if he won a second term.
