Concerns about the authenticity of former President Joe Biden’s executive orders have surged amid new sayinglinking Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) used his autopen, a device that replicates signatures, during the Biden administration.
David Sacks, the artificial intelligence czar appointed by President Donald Trump, recently told Fox News that Warren was the senator “controlling the autopen during that administration,” suggesting her influence extended to many of Biden’s signed documents.
Sacks leveled additional criticism at Warren, accusing her of having a “pathological hatred of the crypto community” and an agenda to push crypto businesses offshore.
The remarks came during an interview with Jesse Watters, alongside discussions of Trump’s newly launched cryptocurrency token, which was unveiled at an exclusive Mar-a-Lago event attended by wealthy investors.
The autopen is commonly used for less urgent presidential matters such as proclamations or resolutions when the official is unavailable.
However, concerns have risen over its alleged widespread use by Biden to sign critical executive orders, including controversial pardons for members of the Jan. 6 select committee like former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY).
Trump has publicly questioned the validity of these autopen-signed orders.
In a speech at the Department of Justice, Trump accused Biden of failing to fully comprehend his actions.
“Crooked Joe Biden got us into a real mess with Russia and everything else he did, frankly. But he didn’t know about it and he, generally speaking, signed it with autopen, so how would he know that autopen is a big deal,” Trump said, according to Trending Politics.
He continued, “When my people come up, you don’t use autopen.”
“Number one – it’s disrespectful to the office,” Trump added. “Number two – maybe it’s not even valid because who’s getting him to sign? He had no idea what the hell he was doing.”
This autopen issue was thrust into the spotlight by the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project, which has submitted numerous public records requests to investigate Biden’s use of the device, particularly amid growing questions about his mental fitness during his final year in office.
The project emphasized the gravity of the matter on social media, stating, “WHOEVER CONTROLLED THE AUTOPEN CONTROLLED THE PRESIDENCY.”
The Oversight Project’s findings show that nearly every document bearing Biden’s signature throughout his presidency used the same autopen signature—except for the formal announcement that he dropped out of the 2024 race, as previously highlighted by Resist the Mainstream.
Warren has defended Biden’s mental state but appeared uneasy when pressed on the issue in a recent progressive podcast.
“I said what I believed to be true,” she said, per TP.
When asked if Biden was “as sharp as you,” Warren replied, “I said I had not seen decline, and I hadn’t, at that point.”
Pressed further on differences between Biden in 2024 and 2021, she responded, “Not when I said that, you know, the thing is, he — look, he was sharp, he was on his feet. I saw him, a live event. I had meetings with him a couple of times.”
The host countered, “Senator, ‘on his feet’ is not praise. ‘He can speak in sentences,’ is not praise.”
Warren conceded, “All right, fair enough, fair enough.”
While Warren has not publicly addressed Sacks’s allegation, pressure is mounting for answers as the Oversight Project intensifies its probe.
With questions swirling over the legitimacy of Biden-era executive actions, Trump allies suggest the autopen scandal could reopen legal challenges and possibly rewrite key moments of the last presidency.
Whether Congress will act on the findings remains uncertain, but the disclosures have prompted renewed scrutiny of how executive decisions were managed during Biden’s time in office.
