New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is once again causing a stir politically after doing a video for the Democratic Socialists of America on her YouTube channel five months ago. The group, also known as the DSA, is catching a lot of flak after they offered praise for the murder of Jewish and Christian diplomats.
The diplomats were gunned down in cold blood outside of a Jewish museum located near the nation’s capital. The suspected killer, Elias Rodriguez, shouted, “Free Palestine” before carrying out the heinous act.
Following the group’s show of support for Rodriguez, conservative commentator Stephen L. Miller dug up the video of Ocasio-Cortez doing a complete podcast with the DSA. This, of course, is not the first time AOC has, in some capacity, been associated with a group spewing hate speech against Israel.
She’s a member of the infamous “Squad” in Congress, featuring fellow Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, who is notorious for making antisemitic remarks against Israel and Jewish people.
In 2019, Ocasio-Cortez callously compared U.S. border detention centers to concentration camps, offending Jewish citizens all over the nation and the world who had relatives who spent time in actual camps during World War II.
The DSA Liberation Caucus identifies itself as a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist caucus that exists within the broader organization. In a post published on social media, the fringe element glorified and praised Rodriguez and then made what some are calling a direct call for additional acts of domestic terrorism.
“It is right to rebel against the enemy. This is Maoist law,” the post from the DSA Liberation Caucus went on to say. It included a black and white drawing of Rodriguez against a Palestinian flag in the background that was stamped with a hammer and sickle.
The broader DSA, which includes AOC and NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani as members, has put out a statement condemning the fringe group’s post.
“Democratic Socialists of America seek to democratically transform our society and reject vigilante violence,” the post says.
“We condemn the murder of Israeli embassy workers. Any statement otherwise is not the stance of DSA,” the short statement ended.
“Rodriguez, 31, allegedly shot and killed Yaron Lischnisky, 28, and Sarah Milgrim, 26, near the Capital Jewish Museum on May 21. The alleged violent extremist shouted ‘Free, free Palestine!’ as he was led away in cuffs. DSA boasts several current and former high-profile members of the House of Representatives as members of its ranks, including ‘Squad’ members Rep. Rashida Tlaib (R-Mich.), former Rep. Jamal Bowman (D-NY) and ex-Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.), as well as current Rep. Greg Casar (D-Texas),” The New York Post reported.
