A Texas man climbed over the security walls surrounding President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort early Tuesday morning in an attempt to locate the president’s 18-year-old granddaughter.
Anthony Thomas Reyes, 23, was discovered by Secret Service agents shortly after midnight during his unauthorized entry onto the exclusive Florida property.
The intruder told authorities he scaled the towering perimeter wall specifically to find Kai Trump, the president’s granddaughter who recently turned 18.
Palm Beach Police arrested Reyes and charged him with trespassing after the security breach at the private club.
President Trump was conducting official business in Washington D.C. when the incident occurred, according to law enforcement sources who confirmed his whereabouts during the overnight security breach.
Kai Trump was vacationing in the Bahamas at the time of the break-in, far from the Florida resort where Reyes expected to encounter her during his unauthorized visit.
The 23-year-old trespasser made what authorities described as an indecent proposal regarding marriage to the teenage Trump family member.
Reyes additionally stated his intention to discuss religious matters with the president, telling officers he wanted to “spread the gospel” during his visit to the heavily secured compound.
This marks the second time in recent months that Reyes has attempted to gain unauthorized access to the Mar-a-Lago property.
The Texas resident received an official trespassing warning on December 31, 2024, when President Trump was present at his Florida residence celebrating the New Year holiday.
Reyes currently remains detained at Palm Beach County Jail under a $50,000 bond arrangement while awaiting further court proceedings related to the trespassing charges.
The defendant has entered a plea of not guilty to the trespassing charges filed against him by Palm Beach authorities following his arrest at the presidential property, per the Daily Mail.
Kai Trump maintains an active social media presence across multiple platforms, frequently sharing content about her close relationship with her grandfather and providing glimpses into the Trump family’s private moments.

The video content included detailed footage of her workout routine, salon visits and leisure time with her best friend during the tropical getaway to the exclusive Caribbean destination.
She dined with her mother, Vanessa Trump, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr., and enjoyed virgin strawberry daiquiris while relaxing poolside in the luxurious Caribbean setting.
The avid golfer took time during her vacation to practice at the prestigious Albany golf course.
“I’m gonna hit some balls because why not,” she said in the video.
“Worked on my swing a little. It’s beautiful. I’m not sure if you guys have ever been to Albany before… I love it.”
