Melania Quashes ‘Completely False’ Barron Trump Rumor

First lady Melania Trump’s office issued a sharp denial Tuesday regarding viral internet rumors claiming her son Barron Trump was rejected from Harvard University.

The speculation resurfaced after President Donald Trump launched fresh attacks against the prestigious Ivy League institution, severing federal government contracts worth approximately $100 million.

This latest round of funding cuts represents the administration’s continued assault on what the president views as liberal strongholds in higher education.

Communications Director Nicholas Clemens released a statement categorically rejecting the claims about the 19-year-old Trump son.

The denial comes amid renewed scrutiny of the Trump family’s educational choices and ongoing tensions between the administration and elite academic institutions.

“Barron did not apply to Harvard, and any assertion that he, or that anyone on his behalf, applied is completely false,” Clemens stated.

The rumors appear to have gained traction without any supporting evidence, spreading across social media platforms and online forums.

Conservative commentators have noted the speed with which unsubstantiated claims about the Trump family circulate online, often without proper verification or fact-checking.

Harvard maintains one of the nation’s most competitive admission processes, rejecting roughly 96 percent of all applicants annually.

The university’s selective admissions standards have long been a source of controversy, particularly regarding allegations of bias against certain demographic groups.

The timing of the speculation coincided with President Trump’s escalated criticism of Harvard, which began in April when he canceled substantial federal funding after the university refused to comply with his demands.

Social media platforms erupted with theories connecting the president’s Harvard attacks to alleged personal grievances regarding his son’s admission status.

The unverified claims spread rapidly across X, Facebook and other platforms.

Multiple posts questioned whether Trump targeted Harvard due to his son’s supposed rejection from the institution.

Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island amplified the speculation on social media platform X, writing about how many Trump family members might have been rejected by Harvard.

The senator’s post accompanied an article discussing the president’s ongoing campaign against the university, per the Daily Mail.

The youngest Trump child chose to attend New York University’s Stern School of Business, breaking from established family educational traditions.

President Trump and several of his other children attended the University of Pennsylvania, while other Trump offspring studied at Georgetown University.

President Trump previously revealed that Barron had received acceptance letters from multiple colleges.

“He’s a very smart guy, and he’ll be going to Stern, the business school, which is a great school at NYU,” Trump explained during the fall interview.

The president indicated that Barron had considered following his father’s path to the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School before ultimately selecting NYU.

“It’s a very high quality place. He liked it. He liked the school,” Trump said about his son’s choice.

The president’s supportive comments about NYU demonstrate his satisfaction with Barron’s educational decision, despite it differing from traditional family patterns.

Barron graduated from Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida, in May of the previous year.

Daily Mail noted that the private preparatory school has a strong track record of placing graduates at competitive universities across the nation.Image
